Over the last two weeks children in Amber Class have explored bread. We used a recipe to make it from scratch, used bread in a science experiment and used bread to make our own sandwiches. Children learnt from the story The Little Red Hen that farmers used windmills to turn their wheat into flour but now it is made in a factory. The class loved kneading the dough by "pushing and folding" or going "side to side" and were seen doing these movements in the malleable areas in the classroom.
