Welcome to the Year 6 Onyx class page!

Onyx class is taught by Mr Hill and supported by Mrs Hawthorne. Mrs Middleton will be teaching the class on Wednesday afternoons.

PE days are Monday and Thursday - please come into school dressed in your school PE kit. On Thursday's, we will be doing Athletics and on Mondays we will be doing Badminton.

Reading: 5 times a week is the minimum school requirement. This needs to be recorded in your Learning Logs and signed by a parent or carer ready to be collected every morning. You should be completing one quiz a week on accelerated reader too - this can be completed at home or in school.

Homework: Homework is set on a Friday and handed in the following Friday. In Year 6, the expectation is that you complete 1 x Maths and 1 x English pieces every week, as well as 1 x Science every two weeks. This is all set on our online homework platform, Atom Learning. Times Tables Rockstars (TTRS) will also be set each week. 

We are starting Cycle 3 of our learning - How the world has changed.

For our learning, we will be using lots of texts in English such as 'Blackberry Blue' and 'Survivors'. This will be accompanied by interesting topics such as Vikings (History), and the circulatory system (Science).
